Government & Public Affairs Associate
The newest member of the Catalyst Public Affairs team is McCartney Martin. McCartney, a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications, serves as our Government and Public Affairs Associate.
McCartney is no stranger to the Capitol or Nebraska politics, as she wrote numerous articles for the Nebraska News Service centered around the Nebraska Legislature. The result of her work was published in newspapers across the state. As a former journalist, she is a talented writer and storyteller, understands how to break down complex issues for a variety of audiences.. McCartney has put her considerable talents to work this year, using inDesign to create high quality info-graphics, invitations, and advocacy pieces. Her coverage of legislative action in committee and on the floor allows our clients an insider’s guide to policy.
McCartney has lived, gone to school, and worked in Lincoln for nearly 18 years and enjoys participating in volunteer work throughout the city. She is a current volunteer at Lincoln Literacy, where she leads a course that aides in preparing immigrants and refugees for their naturalization exams. She has also volunteered with the People’s City Mission, Cedars, and Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach.
