McCartney Martin
Government & Public Affairs Associate
McCartney Martin, who joined Catalyst Public Affairs in September 2018, serves as our Government and Public Affairs Associate.
McCartney is a 2018 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications, where she earned a degree in Journalism. She is no stranger to the Capitol or Nebraska politics, as she wrote numerous articles for the Nebraska News Service centered around the Nebraska Legislature. The result of her work was published in newspapers across the state.
As a former journalist, she is a talented writer and storyteller and understands how to break down complex issues for various audiences. McCartney leverages these skills by providing briefs to clients on legislative hearings and floor debates during both the legislative session and interim. Aside from using her writing skills to help keep our clients in the know, she assists our clients with different legislative events, drafts client testimony in preparation for hearings, pens opinion editorials, and manages our daily and weekly newsletters.
McCartney has lived, gone to school, and worked in Lincoln for nearly 20 years and loves being a part of Lincoln’s close-knit community. She most recently has volunteered at Lincoln Literacy, where she led a course preparing immigrants and refugees for their naturalization exams. McCartney is also a passionate believer in civic engagement and enjoys participating in elections as a poll worker in Lancaster County.
